It is a beautiful, doublesided painting showing a still life. One side is a vase with white flowers only, the other is the same vase with white flowers next to a bust. WATERCOLOR 3.   • About The Artist: KLY was born on May 15th, 1922 in Yelisavetgrad, now called Kirovograd, to a working class Family. In 1937, the artists Father, Jacob S. Yakovlevich, was arrested and died in 1938. Subsequently, in 1940, KLY was drafted into the Soviet Army. He served through the Great Patriotic War (WW2), was awarded the Order of the Red Star and World War II, Medal For Military Merit and For The Victory in the Great Patriotic War. In 1956, KLY entered the Kiev State Art Institute, first in the Architectural Department and then at the Art Department, from which he graduated in 1963 with a degree in Art, Teacher of Drawing and Art Education Methodologist. From 1963 to 1965 he taught at the Kirovograd State Pedagogical Institute. From 1965 to 1967 he worked as an architectural student at the Uzhgorod Regional Department of Architecture, where he studied architecture and assisted in the construction of the Museum of Ethnography in Transcarpathia. From 1967 to 1982, he was back in Kirovograd working at the Art Fund. In the 1990s, KLY returned to teach in the Kirovograd State Pedagogical Institute. During his life KLY travelled a lot. He visited many cities in Russia and Europe, where he painted the things that he saw on those trips. KLY was featured in Regional and National art exhibitions during the 1990s. In 2002, the Kirovograd Regional Art Museum held a commemorative exhibition of KLY works, dedicated to his 80th birthday. Despite his advanced age, KLY continued to paint landscapes in and around Kirovograd. KLY died on April 10th, 2009.
